Sona Jobarteh is the first woman from a griot family to play the kora professionally. The kora is a 21-stringed West African harp made from an ornamented calebass. Traditionally it’s been taught from father to son within the griot families. Sona Jobarteh had a breakthrough internationally with the record ”Fasiya”, meaning origin in mandinka, and has ever since been touring the world. It’s going to be vibrant on stage and wonderful melodies accompanied on the kora and singing that will find it’s way to your heart.
