The Children's festival - during 2016

At Urkult all children are important and have a very central place.

Here the children can participate in the big adventure. This is where everybody meets intergenerational. And where everybody is welcome. Pleasures are being served for all senses. Even the smallest child is going to be satisfied being here. Adults should be able to let go and let the small ones get some extra freedom. The safe feeling of warmth, both from other people and the area itself. The children are the one's who are going to grow up, who will want to return, later become grown ups, having fond memories, pass them on, put their impressions onto the senses of the young. They are the seeds that will grow to a better world.

The circus tent

On the grass outside Hembygdsgården there is a big blue circus tent. Here we will play theatre, tell stories and play music. The artists comes from nearby or from far away. Some of the activities are also fun for grown ups. When the tent is closed and the show is on, the audience moves in to a world of fantasy and magic. Tickets to the circus tent costs 20 SEK and is sold outside the tent one hour before each show.

Urspel

The first thing the children encounters at the festival area is Urspel. Urspel is the children's very own area at Urkult. Here happy, crazy kids can walk on a tightrope or on stilts, feel the tingle in the stomach when they sit in the big swing. Here they can join medieval games or just sit and feel good at the fireplace. Every year the Urspel area is build-up in a new way, of a group of playful and ingenious volunteers, who will do everything to make the Urspel area the highlight of the year.
