Romina Bernardo a.k.a. Chocolate Remix is a fantastic pioneer in the genre of reggaeton, the goal is to change the male-dominated genre from within. Chocolate Remix challenges stereotypes by tackling topics such as sexuality, gender and various social, political and cultural issues from a queer-transfeminist perspective. The music is combined with satire, humor and above all dance and partying. Reggaetón contains many different dance-friendly rhythms such as dembow, carioca funk, RKT and Latin house. The usual subject of sex is often described through the heteronormative culture, Chocolate Remix invites the custom but from a lesbian perspective. Conveying a critical and reflective message alongside the extravagant, festive, colorful, she invites her listeners to dance and think at the same time.
